Do You Know How to give LinkedIn Recommendations to Your Connections?

I had one of my first degree connections ask where, on LinkedIn’s new profile makeover, to find access to give one of your connections a recommendation. Well, they moved it to “Account and Settings” on the tool bar at the top of your profile page. Hover over your picture and the account and settings will appear near the bottom of the drop down. Scroll down to the word “REVIEW” and click on the link.

Your LinkedIn settings page will show up. Look near the bottom right under “Manage your Recommendations”. Click on “Ask for recommendations” at the top of the page. Then select the position or the education that you would like and click on the blue link “Ask to be recommended”.

The next screen you see is the recommendation screen.

On the recommendation screen are several choices. First select which position you would like the recommendation from for a specific experience (JOB) on your profile. Second then is select the person you would like to be recommended by from your connections. And finally, third, would be to create the message you would like to send to that connection for a specific job or work you have done with this person.

Hopefully you will have every connection recommend you, but realistically that doesn’t always happen.
