How to Change the Visibility of a Group on Your Profile.

1. Move your cursor over Profile at the top of the homepage and select Edit Profile.
2. Scroll down to the Groups box in your profile and click the Edit icon.
If you belong to more than six groups, the list will be abbreviated.
3. Click the “See…more” link to expand the box and see all groups. Click the visibility link under the group. The link will either say Visible or Hidden. This will take you to the Visibility Settings section of the group’s Settings page.
4. Check or uncheck the box next to “Display the group logo on your profile”.
5. Click Save Changes.
Note: Members from your group will still be able to see the logo in your profile.

You can also edit your public profile to prevent your groups from showing on your public profile. Check or uncheck the box next to Groups under the Additional Information section on the right side of the page.

Why do you want to change the visibility on your profile? If you are in job search it may be beneficial to hide job search groups from the prying eyes of recruiter and hiring manager.


You can control notifications sent after joining groups from the Groups, Companies & Applications tab on your Privacy & Settings page.
1. Move your cursor over your profile photo in the top right of your homepage and click Privacy & Settings. For security reasons, you may be prompted to sign in again.
2. Click Groups, Companies & Applications next to the gear icon on the left side of the page.
3. Click “Turn on/off notifications when joining groups”.
4. Uncheck the box and click Save Changes.

Note: You may want to turn this option off if you’re looking for a job and want to be more private about which groups you join.
