Recommendations – Giving, Receiving, and Withdrawing?

Give recommendations without expecting anything in return.

Pay it forward.

• Write a recommendation for one of your connections that impressed

you this past week

•Who do you know that you would recommend to a friend or colleague?

•Give recommendations, and you will receive some very positive
feedback from members of your group and you may receive
a recommendation in return.

•When you write the recommendation, it only needs to be two or three sentences to be
effective.

When you receive recommendations you can display them on your LinkedIn profile. And, if there is a misspelling or some inaccurate

information you can revise the recommendation.

To revise a recommendation:

Hover your cursor over Profile at the top of your home page and then click Recommendations.
Click the Sent Recommendations tab.
Click Edit next to the recommendation.
Make your changes in the dropdown menus and text box.
Click view/edit to view or personalize the message to be sent along with the recommendation.
Click Send.
Note: It’s up to the recipient of the recommendation to approve your changes and decide whether to display the updated recommendation on their profile.

Finally, I have had several requests lately to show people how to withdraw a recommendation. Here are the instructions for with-

drawing a recommendation.

To withdraw a recommendation:

Hover your cursor over Profile at the top of your home page and then click Recommendations.
Click the Sent Recommendations tab.
Click Edit next to the recommendation.
Click the Withdraw this recommendation link under the member’s name.
Click Confirm.
Note: The recipient will not be notified if you withdraw your recommendation. It is simply removed from their profile.

So there are your options for recommendations. I hope you get a ton of them.

Happy recommending!
